Vajrasattva Thangka | The Purifier of Karma and Embodiment of Inner Clarity

Vajrasattva, the Bodhisattva of Purification, embodies the power of clarity, repentance, and spiritual renewal. In Tibetan Buddhism, he represents the pure essence of all Buddhas — a force that cleanses karmic obscurations and restores the luminous nature of mind. Through his mantra and presence, practitioners find release from past burdens and return to their innate purity.

In this thangka, Vajrasattva appears radiant in pure white, symbolizing absolute purity and the transformation of defilements into wisdom. He sits gracefully upon a lotus and moon seat, wearing a five-leaf crown and jeweled ornaments that reflect his enlightened majesty. His right hand holds a vajra close to his heart, symbolizing indestructible compassion and truth, while his left hand cradles a bell, representing wisdom and emptiness in perfect union. The composition emanates calm luminosity, inviting viewers into a meditative awareness of purification and renewal.

Hand-painted in Lhasa, Tibet, this thangka exemplifies the precision and sacred devotion of traditional Tibetan artistry. Natural mineral pigments — such as azurite, malachite, and cinnabar — are ground and layered to produce radiant hues and enduring brilliance. Each stroke is guided by mindfulness, turning craftsmanship into a sacred act of purification and reverence.

Created under the guidance of Lixindi, a national-level inheritor of Tibetan intangible cultural heritage, this Vajrasattva thangka reflects decades of spiritual artistry. His brushwork brings divine presence to life — as Tibetan masters teach, “When the image breathes, the blessing lives.” In this painting, Vajrasattva’s serene gaze transmits stillness, clarity, and the timeless light of purification.

This thangka carries the blessings of Vajrasattva — purification, renewal, and inner peace. Ideal for meditation spaces, temples, or quiet homes, it reminds us that transformation begins within, through the union of compassion and wisdom.

“Purity restores the mind to its true nature.”
Invite the tranquil light of Vajrasattva — a hand-painted thangka that embodies clarity, healing, and the essence of purification.

She has studied under many renowned mentors such as Niangben, Danzeng Nima, and Luozang Rejie, delving deep into the craftsmanship. Despite numerous hardships during the creative process, she has always maintained a sincere love for Thangka art.
